Non-Sporting? I think not....

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. Brutus & I were agility trial-ing all day Saturday & Sunday, so it was a fun & tiring weekend for both us! I'll keep our post for today short, so we can get caught up on everyone else's blogs.

Here are some new action shots of Brutus doing his thing. These were taken by a professional photographer during one of our January trials. Although they took FOREVER to arrive, I hope you will agree they were worth the wait! I think they are the best moments that have been captured of Brutus so far. Here are a few of my favorites:

Room to spare over the double. In case you are wondering Brutus jumps at the 12" height.

Weave poles. The expression on his face makes this shot!

Talk about extension! He must have been flying on this one, took of at least 3 feet before the jump...

... and still clears it with plenty of room to spare!!

I love how nicely tucked Brutus is here! He had to make a sharp left after the tire, and you actually can see him looking where he needs to go!!

For a "non-sporting" dog, I'd say those are some pretty athletic poses. Maybe the AKC needs to rethink which group Frenchies belong in...

In his finer moments, Brutus can really rock an agility course. Now we just need to have those kind of moments more often! Not to mention a few less blonde moments from the handler!! We are definitely making progress, and having a blast in the process. Although I have to say, it took me a second to decide how to take it when the judge came up to me after a run this weekend and said "I love your dog! He is so cute & makes me laugh when he jumps!" Maybe not the most lofty praise ever given to an agility dog, but I'll take it as a compliment!

He is so darn CUTE! All the pics are great - but the final one thru the ring shows the most adorable expression. I think youmight need to adjust the blog title, because he is Brutus, the FLYING Franchie.

OH, I think Brutus looks soo darn cute and in a fanstastic way. The looks on his face are priceless and they crack me up!! I just love the going through the hoop picture and you have to be beaming with pride from ear to ear. Sure is much better than any old scary Monster truck, although I wouldnt want to meet up with Brutus in a agility mood,

Brutus, do you have a rocket in your butt???? Wowie!! YOU CAN REALLY F L Y !!
Hey Buddy, I'm thinkin' that since your mom is a teefs doctor, you could offer us some advice... regular like!!
Like... a different teefs brush for EVERY dawg. No sharing those thingys.
And... like how to get us to LOVE being brushed. My mom's furend taught her Lab to like it by... taking turns dipping his brush in a little bit of peanutbutter, next in Cheese Whiz, and sometimes in gravy!! He got so he would BEG to get his teefs brushed... even when his mom switched over to dawgie teefspaste.
Do you think your mom would take that ADVICE THINGY on as a once or twice a month postie thingy???

Great pix! We think the whole non-sporting concept is really weird. Wonder if anyone else than the AKC uses the term? In the KC they're in Utility (now that sounds better, huh?) And here they're in the companion dog group, like pugs. I think both KC and AKC have the term "toy" which I don't much appreciate either. ;)

Well, since you are now in the Olymics AND have these super cute agility shots, I would say you are definetely not a 'non-sporting' dog!!

Dear Brutus, your photos are amazing and your athleticism is obvious. You are an agility star and you're gonna get even better.
Now, I have a simple question to ask: did you bribe Huffle to post your photo before mine? BOL

Wow Michelle, those are awesome pictures of Brutus! It's unbelievable he's jumping over 12" with room to spare. Ummm, just so ya know, Ms. Stella has been exercising and lost 1/2 a pound to get in shape for when she sees her lover boy... lol!

Yeah, Brutus shouldn't be lumped in with the 'non-sporting' dogs. :)
