I try to take Brutus with me as many places as possible. He goes to work with me occasionally, we go see family, to the pet store, to agility practice & trials, softball games, miscellaneous errands - basically anywhere Brutus is remotely welcome. For the most part he is on his best behavior when away from home. We do get away with more than we should since everyone seems to find him cute; he's even been in a State Liquor store....
I know it is safest to transport Brutus in a crate, but I haven't been able to convince HIM of that yet. He rides on the passenger seat (at least not in my lap...), front paws up on the center console so he can see where we are going. His favorite thing is accompanying me to the bank's drive-thru window, since treats always accompany my receipt when returned from the teller thru the vacuum tube thingy.
The Frenchie-mobile (my white Dodge Nitro) is always equipped with a battery-powered fan, treats, a towel to sit on and plenty of water, as well as the appropriate decals on the tailgate (see below). I never, ever leave Brutus in the car alone, as that would be a sure recipe for Frenchie disaster (AKA heatstroke). Besides that, the one time I did leave him in there (only for a second, in the garage at home while I ran back inside for just a second to grab a bottle of water), Brutus locked me out of the car!!! Good thing I have an extra set of keys! Guess that's what I get...

OK, Mom, all systems "go" & your co-pilot is ready! Where to???

We are glad you have your own mobile! It looks really comfertable. I was especially excited when I got my Sugar Mobile a few weeks ago... I was sick and tired of my dad getting all bent out of shape because I got a little white fur in his car. Unfortunetly I did hear through the grape vine that my great grandparents will be donating a crate... their boxer Whyat has grown out of it... I think it's going to be my truck bucket.

Wow thats so cool Brutus. My Mom and I have an award for you at my blog. Please come by when you can. It is sent with lots of love.
licks and sniffs,Sasha
Nice mobile! You might want to tell your Mom to consider purchasing a harness for you that clips in to the seat belt thingie. We have them and can still put our feet on the console, but if Mom has to stop real quick, it keeps us from flying in the floor. It's easy to unsnap from it's little seatbelt leash and then Mom just hooks our leash to it - we get so excited when we see here getting them out because we know it means a trip.

You have a very nice truck - tell mommy she needs to get you a ezydog harness to clip into the seatbelt - it is the only thing that saved Woodrow when mommy crashed the truck!!
We have a Bully mobile too mommy calls it a X5 whatever that is - and it has a special AC and window/door lock system so we cant open it - and the AC runs when mommy has to run out on quick errands.
Woodrow sweetie MJ
ps - our x5 did get totaled - by a drunk driver that ran a red light and broadsided us. ezydog harness saved Woodrow who was in the frontseat with me.
