Morning Stroll

We've had so much picture-perfect weather lately.  If Ohio had this kind of climate all year, everyone would want to move here (no worries - our frigid winters and humid summers scare off all but the most hardy individuals).  I've always said one has to love the extremes - bot hot and cold - to appreciate all the seasons in the Midwest!  This is one of my favorite times of year, and everything is blooming magnificently thanks to our early/warm Spring.  The migrating birds have returned and the air is full of their songs from sunrise to sunset.

We're lucky to live in a such beautiful area, with many great trails to walk.  Only problem is there tends to be very little shade (lots of ex-cowpastures), and it's already warm enough to get Brutus overheated.  Plus his deep black coat really is a heat magnet.  So we walk early, and I have already gotten out the cooling coats & supplies.

Here's a few pictures from our walk this morning.  Just a leisurely stroll, taking in nature & trying to keep it mellow before our big AKC debut tomorrow (no zoomies, Brutus - please, PLEASE???).  We probably won't get a chance to post again until Monday, so keep all those paws & fingers crossed for us!!

Hey Brutus!

That sure does look like a pawsome place for walkies! Woo are so lucky to have such nice trails and horticulture around. Enjoy the nice weather!

Sheesh. I am super jelly because you have a coat for like every type of weather. All I got is a lousy collar because I ripped up a few doggie shirts here and there. I mean seriously. Can't a labradude get a second chance....okay okay fine...a fourth chance...

Hi Brutus,

Wow, you sure look stylish no matter what time of day it is.

What a lovely place for a walk; you're very lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

Wishing you tons of luck no matter how it goes at the AKC debut, they should feel lucky you're even honoring them with your presence! hehehe

Paws crossed!

Our Mom loves this time of the year here in Kansas too - so many gorgeous shades of green and lots of pretty flowers. We have a lovely day here today except for the 45 mph wind gusts. Maybe it will just scoop us up and whisk us to visit you in Ohio - good luck with the next competition.

I hope you guys enjoy AKC agility - I know I do!

We did see some of your CPE runs, but the internet is so slow with videos right now that we weren't able to watch them all. I did read the whole post, though! Hey - we all have off days!

This has been a wonderful spring in the mid west! Mom says it usually gets hot too quick. I hope you have a great time this weekend. And, do what you want...it is all about having fun anyway!
So, have you gotten an answer from the beautiful Stella? I checked her blog and didn't see one. Did you thing the proposal went well? I hope my documentation of the event was up to your high standards ;o)
Thanks for allowing me such an honor!

Hey that is a great cool off jacket. Do they come in Mango size? Let me know, OK? Because it totally was a gazillion degrees here today and I almost expired even lying in the shade.

Your weather is a lot better than it has been in the South. We've had so much rain lately! Where did you find the cooling coat? Freya needs one cause she gets so hot in Georgia.
