Cookies!!! (Part II) and More Cookies!!

Just a few more posts left in the holiday backlog! Ironic, now that we finally have snow (and more, and more, and more snow) it actually looks more like Christmas than it did when I took the photos!

First, some baking that I did over the holidays. Not a lot of cookie eaters around here, so I just made some cut-out cookies to take to a holiday party at our agility club. What better to take than dog-themed cookies? The boys (especially Brutus) snoopervised the whole process to make sure it was up to their standards. Gosh, I hope there weren't any hairs in the cookies. No one said anything..... But then again they were all dog people!

There were lots of dog bone-shaped cookies - but they were for the humans, not the dogs!

Here's some dog-shaped cookies. I had a Jack Russell-shaped cookie cutter, so I decorated them accordingly; partly in honor of our old Duncan, partly because there are a good number of JRs running in our agility club!

Brutus got a bit jealous about not being properly represented, so I made these little cookies to keep him happy. I think it might have been a Scotty they had in mind (sorry Bonnie, Jazzi & the Rocky Creek crew) when they made this cutter, but I tried to get them to look as much like a Frenchie as I could!

There was still batter left over, so last I made some cookies for us to eat during the Rose Bowl game: footballs and letters to spell out "OSU" and "OH-IO"!!!

Brutus inspected them all carefully and determined they were suitable for us to take to the agility party...

But was understandably miffed when he found out they were all human cookies, not for the dogs! Note the look of shock on Mason's face as well (if you can tell from the one raised eyebrow that is peering up onto the counter).

Sooooo....
I felt bad that the cookies I made were only for human consumption, and got out the bag that MJ (our pal Courtney's mom) sent over a few days prior. Our regular followers might remember Part I of the post, where MJ had sent the boys some special dog cookies for a Thanksgiving treat. After seeing how much they enjoyed those, she sent another care package, this time to Brutus and "Moosey" (she can never get Mason's name right - the prior time she referred to him as "Maury").

This smells more promising!!

It's about time!
(Notice Brutus assumes it is for him, while Mason just looks hopeful!!)

Whaddya thinking Mason? I don't see your name on this bag...

If you are just gonna sit there with your head holding down the table, I'm taking matters into my own paws!!

Jackpot!!
Yogurt-covered pretzel treats!!!

I'll just help myself here....

Those who snooze, lose!

... at least until Mom intervenes!!

Thanks again, MJ - those cookies are lip-smacking good!! The boys think you are the cookie fairy!!

I was beginning to get very much worried. Mason was looking sooooo sad and pitiful. I'm really glad that your mom came to his rescue. He is such a well mannered and patient fellow, he DESERVED a yogie pretzel. I LOVE YOGIE right from the cups.
I guess the last pic says it all. Those were nose lickin' gooood. Wish I could have had a nibble. Maybe a recipe sharing is in order. I'm just sayin'.
Your mom's cookies are really cute. I think she did a grrreat job with them.

Wow, you really made a lot of cookies - Mom doesn't have the time or patience to do all those cut cookies. But they sure looked good. And we are glad Brutus and Mason did get a special treat too.

You've got me drooling. What a great photomentary of your trials with the human cookies--or should I say poor Mason's trials? Your mom was sweet to help out after the long ordeal.

Our Mom is loving that picture of Mason in the 'classic' cross-eyed Lab pose.

We thought those cookies looked a bit like Scotties too.

Hey Brutus! Those are some swell looking cookies. Too bad they weren't made from livers. At least you had some to enjoy.

I am not very good about those touch points in agilities. My teacher told momma that she needs to slow me down between obstacles and refocus, but when I see that A-frame I just go insane!

We only do agilities once each week for fun and really don't intend to compete, but it is still important to do things right.

My teacher gave me weave pole homework! Ick! Boring! I have to keep doing just the first two poles over and over. I am pretty good when momma is on my right, but can't find the entrance when momma is on my left.

Kisses,
Dexter

May I have one of those Scottie/Brutus cookies (see what our puppies would have looked like?) without the icing and sprinkles, please? Just the plain Wheaten colored ones? You make an excellent snoopervisor and I see your deligence paid off with a frosted treaty!
