Mopey Monday

Phew.  Things have been crazy around here.  Lots of things going on, lots more upcoming in the next few weeks.   Been keeping Brutus and Carmen busy with trials & training, crazy heat & humidity going on outside, and there are all kinds of family events on the calendar for the next few weeks (including Paul's youngest sister getting married, and I'm in the wedding).  On top of that I've taken on some more dental responsibilities, working an extra few days a week in an office where I see up to 60 patients a day (yikes!).

With all that on our plates, it's nice to have a day at home to re-cooperate and recharge for the next round.  I've got PLENTY to catch up on, so it's up to the dogs to make sure that the sofa doesn't feel neglected.  Seems like every time I wander through the family room, they've assumed some new arrangement for napping.  They usually start out all separated, as you see here, and everyone has their favorite spot.

Some individual shots of the happy nappers.

Trying to nap here, mom.  Can you knock it off with the flashy thing already?

As time goes on they usually end up clumping together.  Mason is pretty suspicious of Carmen, I think he figures she's just waiting to pounce on him when he's not paying attention.

Hey Mason, you look kinda sad.  Does someone need a hug or a nice puppy kiss??

Come on, I'm really a good snuggler.   I'll just move in slowly...

I most frequently find Brutus and Carmen together, they seem to be perfectly happy to share a blanket or use each other for pillows.

You've heard of pigs in a blanket -  I've got frogs in a blanket!

Big brothers apparently make great headrests!

After a while there is usually a pile-up.  I think there must be some kind of weird magnetic force that kicks in once they fall asleep.

Sorry about the lousy quality, had to grab these photos with my iPhone camera before they moved...

... or woke up!

Must be nice to lounge around all day, not a care in the world, except for wondering when dinner is.

Hey, did someone just say "dinner"????

I'm trying to catch up on everyone's blogs, visiting even if I don't have time to comment.  Please bear with us the next few weeks - we are always happy to see how many of you visit us even when we've been slacking!  Tune in next time for results of our return to the rally ring this past weekend - let's just say that Brutus definitely earned his day off today!

We understand being busy...Mom will be going back to school in a month and we won't have time to blog as much either.

The picture of Carmen and Brutus in the blanket together is just darling!

I know what you mean about being busy - it's the summer, yet I feel like I haven't slowed down at all!

Hope you catch a break soon!

OMD why must puppies be so freaking cute when they sleep? You 'old' guys are adorable too. Mason's look while he is getting the puppy stare down is hilarious!

I have a velcro-pug sister that I can't shake off either Mason! Seriously, it gets ridiculous.

Your lady Stella is featured in a sexy photo over on our blog. Shhhh, don't tell her I said so, but she was talking about you..
I have gotten wind of you sneaking into the Sunflower Camp in one pic too.

60 patients a day - that is incredible - don't know how you do it!

Great nappers, love the snugglers. We aren't big snugglers although Ciara does make a serious effort to get as close as she can to TD.

We are all going to be very busy for the upcoming weeks too - so we fully understand. We are very appreciative of any time you visit with or without a comment.

There is a reason mom says in her next life she's coming back as dog or cat in a house like she treats dogs and cats!

It's a rough life we lead!

HAHAHAHA!!! Funny how that dog-gravity thing works - Abby and I seem to end up on top of each other by the end of the night, and yes, we are often using parts of Mom (legs back, head, whatever) as a pillow. Because she's there, ya know!
