It's been crazy hot here, high humidity to boot. That being said, you can't stay inside (hibernating in the A/C) all the time. We went swimming a few days ago as a cool way to give the Frenchies some exercise. For the holiday weekend we packed up Big Earl and headed up to Lake Erie hoping for some cooler temps there. It was still hot (like 95-100F hot!), but at least Brutus got to try out a new way to show off his snazzy red lifevest!
Paul 's family enjoys boating, and humored me by letting Brutus come along out on a boat trip. Safely fastened into his vest, he eagerly hopped on board.
Turns out that Big Earl isn't all that Captain Paul can maneuver!
All clear up here Dad - let's go!!
For some reason Brutus preferred to look where we had been instead of where we were going!
Not a bad view, I guess
My lame attempt at getting a photo of me & Brutus (his ears blown back by the wind).
It was even hot on the boat. Had to hold Brute over the side & dip him in the water a few times to help cool down (that handle on the back of the vest comes in really handy!)
Brutus: chief of security on land or sea!
Soon it was time to head back in (we were all baking out there, honestly).
Back at the dock, Paul made sure Brutus got onto dry land safely. Hey, honey - that's some pretty funny-looking luggage you've got there! See, I told you that handle is a great feature!!
Starting today we are supposed to get a break from the heat, although the humidity shows no sign of improvement as of yet. Thank goodness for air-conditioning, or this would be truly unbearable for the Frenchies. A quick note to say that despite all our light-hearted posts, I do take keeping them cool & safe very seriously. All their activity outside is closely monitored, as is their time in & around the water. Hope you are all keeping safe and comfortable, have a great weekend!
