Sweet Victory

It's been so long since I posted about things at home, I've almost forgotten how!  The bad news it that it took us forever to get through our Earlventure posts, thanks to Brute's long-windedness.  The good news is that allowed me to creat a post back-log, so we should have lots to talk about for the next few weeks!!

Just before we left for Florida a package arrived in the mail from our pal Sugar the Golden Retriever (click there on his name to visit Sugar's bloggie if you haven't met - such a sweetie)

You might remember that he had a fun contest a while back, 10-second Trick-n-Treat.  Entrants were supposed to be able to balance something on their snooter.  Brutus really doesn't have much of a snooter (it actually kind of an innie), but that didn't stop him from playing.  We found this little gingerbread-man kind of treats that fit perfectly into the divot above his nose!

Brutus will hold it that way until I say "OK", at which point he flips it off.  He has caught it once or twice, but usually gravity wins & he just eats the treat off the floor.

So being the inquisitive little guy that he is, Brutus just couldn't wait to see what was in the box from Sugar.  The golden boy has quite a reputation as a chef after all, so chances are this was something very yummy!!

Brutus knew right away there was something good in that package, and did his best to get to the contents.  So did Carmen.

They weren't making much headway (just pushing the box around on the floor), so since I was the only one around with thumbs, stepped in to help them.
Hey, I recognize that golden face!!
Ooohh, smells DELICIOUS!!
Sugar sent us Peanut Butter Bites AND Veggie Hearts!!  They smelled so good I wanted to try them myself!  Best of all, they are made from all-natural yumminess and are wheat-free!  Perfect!

Quit messing around mom, lets get these treats unwrapped!
Take the picture fast or we'll both be standing in a puddle of drool!
Taking matters into his own hands...  er, mouth.
Did I miss any??
After having won these treats with tricks, it only seemed right for Brutus to say thanks with an encore demonstration!

I really should have seen this coming...
Maybe if I wrinkle my nose up enough I can get it to just fall into my mouth...
The Peanut Butter Bits weren't as cute, but worked better!
Steady...  Wait for it... Wait for it....
Look closely at the photo below.  You can see why Brute doesn't catch the treat very often - he launches it backwards from where he is looking!
Dang it!  Missed again!
A big Golden thanks to Sugar and his wonderful Paw House for sending us the treats.  I made Brutus wait to finish them until after we got up the post, and so he's driving me nuts at the moment.  Better go make good on my word and pass out the treats!

If you haven't already, be sure to visit Sugar's Paw House.  He's not jsust a great cook - they have all kinds of fabulous bandannas & collars too!

Brutus! Your big adventure was total funballs. I loved reading about it.

Now, regarding that trick. Please don't show it off anymore. My momma is all saying, "oh Mango, you can learn that trick lying down and not hurt your leg." But it just makes me cross eyed.

Slobbers,
mango

P.S. I think I am in love with your sister. Hope you don't mind.
