We've been (A) Framed!!

In our last post we mentioned that there had been a lot going on around here lately.  The bad news is that the blog has suffered a serious lack of attention.  The good news is that we've got lots of new material!

Recently mom got a brilliant idea that it was time to do a little construction.  She enlisted the help of her dad (who will henceforth be lovingly referred to as Grandpa Tom) for some kind of project down in our basement.

Wow.  That's a lot of wood!  What on earth could they be up to??

Oh, geez.  Carmen you better come over here & see this...

"Build Your Own Agility Equipment?!?"

 I think we're screwed!!

Grandpa Tom wasted no time getting to work - measuring, sawing, & hammering.  I figured that if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!  I was right there to supervise & make sure he did everything right.

Safety first!
Are you sure that's straight??
It says he'll need this hammer next.
It's amazing what you humans can do with those thumbs of yours!
Hey, wait a minute.  This is starting to look familiar!

Carmen, I think we've been (A) Framed!!
Wow, that's quite the addition to our basement agility course!  A couple of trials with some A-Frame issues, and voila - I have one of my very own to practice on.  Who'da thunk it?

Now for some sanding so it's safe for our paws!

Did someone say it was time to paint?!?!

Oh, come on.  You never let me help paint...

Several hours and coats of paint later, there was a full-size obstacle ready for a test run.
Pretty impressive, eh?
I boldly volunteered to give it a try.

A Frenchie perspective of the A-Frame

Up & over!

Coming in for a landing!
Mom says now we can never move, as the A Frame is too big to fit back up the stairs now that it's built.  Plus it weighs over 200 lbs, so it's not going anywhere.  Thanks to Grandpa Tom for helping us with the build, don't think we could have nailed two pieces of wood together properly without you!!

You guys did an awesome job on your new "A." It sure is a Big A. You were both so helpful snoopervising grandpaw with the construction. Obviously Paw was not listening since he didn't have his safety goggles on. Great job!

What an amazing project! And I guess you better not move!!! Love the photo of the hands-on doggehs - we can see that they were very helpful! Hope you'll take some movies of going through the "paces" in the basement - must be a large space!

Good thing you guys are short or your little heads would hit the ceiling. Please send Grandpa to my estate at once to construct an A-frame for PeeWee. He is mental.

Good thing you are height challenged. I think if we had one in our basement I'd smack my noggin' on the ceiling!

You are truly dedicated to your agilities! And, should you ever move, the A-frame will offer a unique "feature" for the basement. You are lucky to have such a talented and generous grandpa.
